Find the product by using a geometric (area) diagram: (x-1)(x^2+2x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you just trying to multiply? not sure what a geometric area diagram is...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algebra II?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not really sure either to be honest . . . (algebra I i think, i'm in advanced 8th grade)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im pretty sure you just use the distributive property

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply everything in the second equation by x (in the first equation) then multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then multiply everything by -1 the same way you did x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like x times x^2, then x times positive 2x, then x times -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then the same for -1 in the first equation
