What is the solution of the system of equations? y = –2x + 5 –5y = 10x + 20

OpenStudy (hesan):

This is simple First find the value of x from eq1 in terms of y...and then put in eq 2 for finding y and then put the value of y in any equation to find x..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand ..

OpenStudy (gudden):

shebadd.. on dividing the second equation with 5 would give u –y = 2x + 4 taking y to the Left Hand side and The other terms to the Right Hand Side you get y = -2x - 4 now equate it with the first equation (y = –2x + 5)

OpenStudy (gudden):

so what do u get ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just need the answers ..

OpenStudy (gudden):

shebadd.. go through the following page first and u would urself be able to get the answer http://www.math.utah.edu/~wortman/1050-text-leitv.pdf and what do u mean when u say "i JUST need the answers" don't u want to learn the concept behind it ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no , i dont want to learn this ,

OpenStudy (gudden):

alright then..
