Solve for x: x - 2 > 2x + 12 x > 14 x < 14 x > -14 x < -14

I want to make sure I get this one right... I think I know the answer though. Just want to check

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

then what's your guess? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is the 2nd one...

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

mmm not quite :) x - 2 > 2x + 12 add 2 to both sides +2 +2 x > 2x + 14 minus 2x from both sides -2x -2x -x > 14 multiply both sides by ( - ) and flip the sign x <

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -14?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the last one? Thank you so much for your help!

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :) and you're welcome :)
