Nacl- $12.00 per 500g Test tubes- $96.80 per 1000 micropipette tips- $14.95 per 1000 Pasteur pipet- $100.00 per 100 Cover slips- $75.00 per 100 RBCs (red blood cells) assume each student will take 1.0 mL of RBCs Micropipet $295.00 haemocytometer $125.00 each Pasteur pipet $90.00 per 200 Serological pipet $15.00 One has been asked to submit a list of needed equipment and total invoice cost to prepare for 4 lab classes in which there here are 20 students per class given the inventory below. DO not forget to include the 13% Harmonized sales tax.
I also forgot to add inventory 16 haemocytometer 20 per lab 0 cover slips- 2 per person 0 Pasteur pipet 4 per person 3 micro pipet 100-1000uL- should have 5 per lab 0 micropipette tips- 4 per person 0 small test tubes-2 per person
Hmmm I am sorry I am not in this grade
okie :(
first you have to figure out how many haemocytometers, cover slips, pasteur pipets, etc you will need for the four classes of 20 students each. Then subtract the materials that you have in the inventory. Then see if the items you can purchase individually or per 1000. According to this you will order and multiplying for the price you will be able to find the invoice cost. at the end you have to add the 13% of sales tax.
do you need more help?
yes I don't understand yet
for example start with the first item in the list haematocytometers, you need 20 per lab, you have 4 classes you will need 80 haematocytometers in total. According to your inventory you have already 16 so you have to subtract 80-16 to know how many you need to buy. That is 64 haematocytometers you need to buy for a $125 each (64 x $125 = $8000) you will need $8000 for the haematocytometers only. Then follow with the second item in the list, cover slips
the coverslips you need 2 per person, you have 4 classes with 20 students a total of 80 persons, at 2 coverslides per person that makes a total of 160 coverslides, you dont have any in your inventory you need 160, but they come in boxes of 100, you will need to order 2 boxes at 75 dollars each that makes $150 dollars for 2 boxes of coverslides.
but theirs 0 cover slips
the Pasteur pipets you need 4 per student (4 x 80 = 320 pipets) you have 0 in your inventory, you need to order 320, but they come in boxes of 100 for $100 a box. That is you need to order 4 boxes of 100. That is $400 for 4 boxes of pasteur pipets added to your shopping list.
hmm
yes you have to buy coverslips because there is 0 in the inventory
does that also go for the micropipette tips and small test tubes
yes, you don't have any coverslips, pasteur pipets, micropipets tips and small tubes, so you don't have to subtract any from the total that you need
anyway you are missing some data to complete the problem. You dont have the price of the RBC, you will need 80mL and you dont know how many serological pipets you will need for student. Without this two information you can not calculate the total invoice.
the cost of my RBC is says ( assume each student will take 1.0mL of rbc- 60$/500mL
ok we need 80 ml so we have to order the 500ml for $60
I don't understand the 3 micro pipet
I got it to the point that u explained it but the rest I just don't get it and with the 13% as well :/
you need 5 micropipets for each class you are planning for 4 classes (5 x 4 = 20 micropipets) you already have 3 in your inventory so you only have to buy 17 more micropipets at $295 each. It is a total of $4998
and I buy the tips for the micro pipet and also for the small test tubes and then at the end I total my amount times that by 13% ?
after you get the total of money that you have to spent to buy all the materials that you need you calculate the 13% of that amount and add that value to the total. for example: your total is $8000, the 13% of $8000 is (8000x13/100=$1040) so you have to add $1040 + $8000= $9040 this is going to be your total bill
ok im going to work on the micro tips and test tubes and then I will add all my money together then I add the 13% correct I hate how this is worth so much marks anything to do with MATH I just don't get it :(
BUT I REALLY appreciate ur help so very much
make a list as if you were going to the supermarket to buy that things, and at the end you should have a list has the cashier in the super give to you
i still need how many serological pipets we need and i will assume that we need 500g of NaCl
Nacl $12.00 per 500g
List still missing how many serol pipets Haemocytometer 64 each 125 8000 coverslips 2 boxes of 100 75 150 pasteur pipets 4 boxes of 100 100 400 micropipets 17 each 295 5015 micropipets tips 1 box of 100 14.95 14.95 small test tubes 1 box of 100 96.8 96.8 NaCl 1 500g 12 12 RBC 1 500mL 60 60 serol pipets ? each 15 ? Total 13748.75 Tax 13% 1787.3375 TOTAL 15536.0875
One was instructed to prepare diluent for a class of 20 students. in determining the total amount of diluent needed each student would typically require slightly more volume. Assume each student will take 10% additional volume. 1) calculate the amount of diluent needed for a class of 20 students this is another question completely different from the previous one
