Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form with a slope of -5 and a y-intercept of -1?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

slope-intercept form: y = mx + b when m = slope and b = y-intercept so replace m with -5 and replace b with -1 in y = mx + b

I'm confused

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

when I say replace m with -5 it's like y = -5x + b see what I did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is b -6?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

b = y-intercept they told you y-intercept is -1 therefore b is -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y = -5x -1 ?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Correct!!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that's all i had to do ?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yup! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 9 wrong out of 21 :/ i got a 56%

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

ouch >,< I'm sorry :(
