From where does light get its energy?

A photon which is a particle and wave, is released from an atom that has energy.

Light is a form of energy, it doesn't loses or gain energy. When an atom or a molecule losses its energy it has to come out in some form, because of the conservation of energy. And sometimes it come as light energy.

if you're talking about light energy, its converted from other forms, such as electrical energy from the filament of a light bulb.

if you're talking about photons though, it doesn't 'get' energy from anywhere, its basically made of energy.
