That is a regular hexagon so the apothem is the altitude of an equilateral triangle. That altitude divides the triangle into a 30-60-90 special right triangle.

So would that make the apothem 4?
No. That is not a 45-45-90 triangle with 2 equal legs. It is a 30-60-90. What is the relation between the legs in a 30-60-90?
Oh! The longer leg is the srt of 3 bigger than the shorter one, right?

Very good!! Multiply the 4 by sqrt3 and you have the long leg which is the altitude.
