Question

I'm terrified that I will have white marks on my teeth after my braces get taken off next week.

If you haven't been taking the absolute best care of your teeth, and then you start taking better care of them while your braces are still on, will it be less likely to get those marks?

Also, i have really bad sensetivity on the front 4 bottom teeth now whenever i eat frosting. This is probably due to the fact that for about a month this year, i liked eating frosting out of the container or on waffles, but i stopped, but i am afraid that i have a cavity or tooth decay! Will that delay my braces being removed next Monday? Please help! I am freaking out!

Shoot I wish that i could help you but I am not familiar with braces. Although, if there is any plaque buildup under your braces or anywhere touching your teeth, and it has been there for an extended period of time, then that will cause those white spots. So brush your teeth and they can be avoided! And i am guessing that you might have developed a sensitivity to sweets, which may or may not be the result of a cavity. Not 100% sure though :\

Okay, it is not uncommon for someone to have white marks on their teeth after they get their braces off, but it is often subtle. Changing your behavior was a good idea, just for the sake of your teeth. Whitening your teeth after getting your braces off is often recommended. The cavity should not delay your braces, and if it's tooth decay, make sure to get it fixed ASAP, so then your teeth won't get messed up. Also, make sure you wear your retainer. If you don't your teeth will go back to the way they were. Just make sure to get that tooth checked out (and fixed if need be) soon.

I think you have a sensitivity to sweets because i went to the dentist i told them about my teeth and i asked if i have a cavity after they checked them they left and came back they told me i didn't have a cavity but id better be careful about my sweets cause i have sensitivy teeth that are really easy to get cavitys

Thanks everyone! My sister didn't wear her retainer and she has braces again now and she had to pay the $1500 dollars out of her allowance to pay for them, so i will defineitly be wearing my retainer.
