There is a linear relationship between a person's age and blood pressure. Two measurements are given: Age Blood Pressure 10 115 30 125 A.)Write the linear function that can be used to determine a person's blood pressure given his age, P(x), in slope intercept form. (Hint: First write the equation in point slope form.) B.) Use the function to determine the blood pressure of a 28 year old person. So far I have: m= 125-115/30-10= 1/2 P(x)=1/2x+115…. I don't think this is right though.
I'd suggest you choose one of the two points given and substitute its coordinates, along with the slope you've calculated, into the point-slope form of the equation of a straight line. This is quite different from borrowing the y-comp. of one of the points and using it as the y-intercept (b). Welcome to OpenStudy!
