why is insulin taken orally and not as injection

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can be taken both ways. when taken orally, it goes to the liver in a ealthier and more effective way, instead of shooting it into your viens. has more effects and is quicker

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are asking specific reason

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

actually it is d other way round....if insulin is taken orally it is digested by d different proteases in d intestine....but if injected it is directly taken in d lymphatic system and thus it remains functional.....
