OpenStudy (jjuden):

Solve the equation. If necessary, round your answer to the nearest tenth. 4x2 = 81

OpenStudy (jjuden):

20.25, –20.25 2.25, –2.25 4.5, –4.5 9, –9

OpenStudy (xbeenchantedx):

I'm guessing your asking to solve for 4x^2=81. First take the square root of both numbers. So it would be (squ root) 4x^2= (squ root)81. When you simplify it out, it would be 4x=+/-9 (since you took the square root of 4x^2 which would remove the exponent and the square root of 81 is 9). After that you just divide both sides by 4 to isolate the variable and you end up with +/- 2.25
