jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you mean to get a positive answer? ... I don't think you can?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there has to be a way I know that it has to do with Multiplying it by something or something like that

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

mmm? even if you do multiply or something.. i don't see how >,< @ikram002p @mathmale do you have an idea?

OpenStudy (jellisoncollege):

8(0.2x +0.5) -0.9= 0.1 distribute the 8 1.6x + 4 - 0.9 = 0.1 combine like terms on one side 1.6x = -.69 multiply both sides by 1.6 x = -.43125 If your answer needs sig figs then the final answer would be x = -.4

OpenStudy (jellisoncollege):

the only way I can see to get a negative answer would be to have a negative variable. And you don't want that in any algebra class.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need the answer as a positive one :-(
