Basic electricity problem

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

I have four electric charges. They are in the next setting: |dw:1392777017231:dw|

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

The size of the square is l

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

Demostrate that q and Q are of opposite signs and also find the value of Q/q

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

For demostrating...should I just say Ft=F1+F2+F3 and do that?

OpenStudy (masumanwar):

coulombs law is the answer or Gauss law if we draw the vector diagram of the force we can find the answer

OpenStudy (osanseviero):

So I get Fq1 +Fq2 = FQ...my teacher jumped from this to FQ= Fq* sqrt(2) ... I could answer after getting this, but I dont understand the change
