HELP WILL GIVE MEDAL AND FAN ! Without graphing, determine whether the function represents exponential growth or exponential decay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

decay i think

OpenStudy (roadjester):

ok yeah decay

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

if \(b^n\) has \(|b|< 1\), it is decay.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

my math is rusty; ok 2/3 is less than 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ye thats my reasoning

OpenStudy (dan815):

if you multiply by fraction you take a part of what you originally had so it will be decreasing as you multiply by exponential fractions

OpenStudy (dan815):

exponential decrease

OpenStudy (roadjester):

now i remember why i stopped answering math questions :( too many people answer the same question and give the same answer

OpenStudy (roadjester):

it's overkill

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i always put i think cause its been a while since i touch most subjects except bio and chem

OpenStudy (dan815):

the best thing u can do is flood them with so many answers they will feel like learning it for themself

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

@roadjester answer harder questions and you don't have this problem :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ye answer my question in the bio section. lesgo

OpenStudy (roadjester):

@whpalmer4 point taken @sunshao1 I'm an engineering major; I'm better with physics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woah woah woah wo ah whoahh. @roadjester would you help me with physics and does anyone know pre cal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im bio major with prepharm track so i'm kinda spread out lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can do precalc. but physics u can ask @roadjester

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wowowowowo @sunshao1 would you please help me with pre cal!

OpenStudy (roadjester):

@CNmubarak sure, post ur question in the physicsgroup

OpenStudy (roadjester):

I know up to diff. eq but u can ask @sunshao1 since he offered

OpenStudy (roadjester):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol well i would take the diff eq guy over the dude who took calc 1 since 2 year-ish but I am pretty good with my algebra still lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer to this one is just that it decays right? or should I explain more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from ur question i am guessing just saying exponential decay is enough

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thank you! and wait im confused, who is good or what not in pre cal and/or physics.?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

http://openstudy.com/study#/groups/Physics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not good at physics but precal was pretty simple for me. go to roadjester for physics

OpenStudy (roadjester):

that'd be me; although it will kinda depend on what area of physics

OpenStudy (roadjester):

I'm good with mechanics, thermophysics, relativity, AC and DC circuits but not that good with E&M

OpenStudy (anonymous):

man i wish i knew of this site when i was taking it a couple years ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not taking them righty right now, but will in a few days I think! would you both still not mind helping me then?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im guessing ur in uni/college

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats why ur not taking them now

OpenStudy (roadjester):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im in ashworth u.u I take class per class. but its college prep so. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok. lol i dont really know what ashworth curriculum is but ill take ur word for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would yall help me with just one more? of algebra?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure shoot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Without graphing, determine whether the function represents exponential growth or exponential decay. y=7(0.28)^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

decay again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.28<1

OpenStudy (roadjester):

^^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank youuuuuuu so much did yall get yalls medals right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ye but idk what it is for lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for helping haha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol but does it mean anything?like i cant cash it out for rewards or anything?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

ya know i find it hillarious. 4 years of high school using this site and i have 29 medals for math 2-3 semesters of uni in physics and i have 90+ medals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry? idk I saw it was a big deal on here. . it was what I said to begin with hahaha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol today is my first day and i got a couple lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and wow hahaha. tht is interesting. you liking it?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

the medals don't really mean much just bragging rights i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its interesting concept. my buddy who i use to help tutor kids at my uni sent me this site on reddit lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont tutor anymore cause uni cut most of it out due to budgets and stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awe im sorry that happened. and yeah I guess its only to look better on the profile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meh its fine lol more freetime for videogames/procrastination lmao

OpenStudy (roadjester):

@sunshao1 if you're interested in tutoring as a job i know a site

OpenStudy (roadjester):

how old r u guys?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im 22

OpenStudy (roadjester):

same here 22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so ur on the last stretch of ur degree im assuming too

OpenStudy (roadjester):

kinda/ not really budget cuts and other crap so i've got 5 different associates due to all the freaking classes i took just to increase priority for classes

OpenStudy (roadjester):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aw that sucks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh oops im 18 haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well when u get ur questions just summon me lol. i think u can close this question

OpenStudy (roadjester):

and sry for the spamming @CNmubarak
