Which population increases the amount of soil nutrients available to plants? A. earthworms that help decompose an apple that fell from a tree B. rain forest plants that grow toward the light C. a butterfly that pollinates a flower when eating nectar D. a dog that buries a bone in the backyard
A
Burrowing activity of earthworms permits greater penetration of air into the soil, and improves drainage capacity of the soil . Erathworm is commonly termed as natural plough.
@Nivi Plz prove your answer next time :D Thx
Lol, alright! :)
Earthworms not only help in drainage capacity of soil. They are decomposers. They decompose the dead matter (complex and organic) into simple, inorganic nutrients that are needed by the plant for development. They break down the organic matter using enzymes that are naturally present in them. That's how they increase the nutrients in the soil. @Carniel Good enough? :)
Yea :L
