Question

Guys.. I dont know where to ask this question.. I'm facing SLMC which is the choosing test for IMO in our country. The question paper is consist of 4 units , which r Algebra , Combinatories , Geometry and number theory. I need to learn these units ASAP... here is the link of the 2012 paper.. could u guys visit this and suggest me online sites or any e books or something like that which covers the above units under the standard of the questions asked...

Well the combina: book I'm using now is fun to read and easy to understand.
And do you know Buddhima Kasun Fernando? He used to represent Sri Lanka in Olym: in quite a few occations. Did you try contacting him?

yep i tried past papers... the international standards deviate from our local syllabus... so I dont know much about Number theory and Combinatories

our syllabus give more priority to calculus and complex numbers and things like that.. but i saw in the site that those fields r excluded from the paper

okay I had a book for number theory as well. I did both courses last semester. I'll let you know tomorrow. I cannot reach those books right now.
And btw good luck with the competition. I've faced SLMC twice as well, but hey I'm not a genius, so I didnt make it to the IMO.

You should definitely contact Kasun, He's the best person I know when it comes to Olympiad. And he's contributing to the exam paper as well

yeah, basically, they don't test your calculus knowledge in Sri Lanka
