Can someone help me with polynomials? Subtract (2n^2+4n+5)–(2n^2+3n+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2n^2+2n^2)+(4n+3n)+(5+-4) Am I doing this problem right?

OpenStudy (lukebluefive):

You have the right idea, but you forgot most of the minus signs.

What did I forget?

OpenStudy (lukebluefive):

Try showing more of your steps, like this: \[(2n^2 + 4n + 5)-(2n^2+3n+4)\] The entirety of the second polynomial is subtracted from the first, so this becomes: \[(2n^2 + 4n + 5)-2n^2-3n-4\] Now try combining like terms as you did earlier.

11n^2-9^2
