Describe how oxygen can improve your level of physical fitness. Is this right?
Oxygen is the key ingredient in the production of energy. Oxygen is a by product of photosynthesis and is important to all living beings. Without oxygen, living beings would cease to exist. Oxygen is breathed into the lungs through our nose and mouth. The oxygen is carried to many parts of our body such as bloodstream, muscles, cells. The food/glucose that we eat is broken down by the stomach and intestines into nutrients. Oxygen is carried by the bloodstream to the muscles while the nutrients is absorbed by the bloodstream. The oxygen and nutrients is transported to cells. The oxygen and nutrients is used by the mitocondria to produce adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. ATP provides energy to our body cells. As our muscles increase in the rate and strength of their contractions as we exercise, Our breathing and heart rate increases as our cardiovascular system meets the needs of ATP.

ok will need help now to describe how water/carbohydrate can improve physical fitness
I'm trying to piece it together then will post to see if Im correct
ok
Here's some other information that may help you, Regular physical activity makes your heart stronger. A stronger heart can pump more blood with less effort. If your heart can work less to pump, the force on your arteries decreases, lowering your blood pressure. But to keep your blood pressure low, you need to keep exercising. It takes about one to three months for regular exercise to have an impact on your blood pressure. The benefits last only as long as you continue to exercise. Flexibility and strengthening exercises such as lifting weights are an important part of an overall fitness plan, but it takes aerobic activity to control high blood pressure. Any physical activity that increases your heart and breathing rates is considered aerobic exercise, including Household chores, such as mowing the lawn, raking leaves or scrubbing the floor, Active sports, such as basketball or tennis, Climbing stairs, Walking, Jogging, Bicycling, and Swimming. The American Heart Association recommends you get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise, 75 minutes of vigorous exercise or a combination of both each week.
Water is an essential component constituting all organisms. Water is one of the most essential human nutrients . Oxygen withdraws electrons from the transport system to combine with H+ to form water in the krebs cycle. Water helps with nutrient absorption from the food we eat for the cells in our organs, transports nutrients, regulates circulation of blood and tissue fluid and excretion of waste carrier. Water also helps with body heat by regulating body temperature, maintain acid-base balance of the blood electrolyte balance, lubricates joints and internal organs. For an adult the daily intake is approximately 6-8 cups of water a day along with meals to meet the needs of human metabolism. When our body exercises, we should increase our water intake in order to compensate for the water loss from skin and respiratory discharge (sweating), urination. how is this sound for water as a way to help physical fitness?
Sounds like an A+ to me! I am really into physical fitness and I know a lot about those types of things. This is something I would definitely reference to others so they could gain knowledge.
thanks michelle27. I'm trying to do homework questions as it asks me to describe three ways that knowledge of the metabolic processes photosynthesis and cellular respiration can improve your level of physical fitness. You may wish to investigate choices of appropriate diet and exercise. You should conduct additional research to find supporting details for your ideas. Provide at least two properly cited references in response
I'd like to thank you for the response on the heart, but some people told me to focus on oxygen, water and carbohydrates for the answer
now i'm trying to work on the carbohydrate part of the question
I see, however I believe your response to your homework is on point. The carbohydrate part should be easy for you undoubtedly.
took me a week or two to piece together the answers, going through so many many websites and books from library.. after that I need to write references...
this homework is out of 13 marks..
Carbohydrates is an essential nutrient component constituting all organisms. The carbohydrates from our diet breaks the carbohydrate molecules into glucose which is a simple sugar by the kreb cycle and is absorbed into our bloodstream. As sugar level rises in our body, the pancreas releases a Insulin which helps moves sugar from the blood into the cells, where sugar can be used a source of energy. The consumption of carbohydrates helps our cells harness the chemical energy by helping drive our metabolism. A healthy diet should include a range of fruits, whole grains and vegetables along our normal meal. When our body exercises, more energy is required so we must consume a great amount of carbohydrate/glucose for those intense exercises as the process of cellular respiration helps break down the glucose into useful energy. is what i have so far
