Identify the outlier of the set of variables. Please show me step by step http://awesomescreenshot.com/0f32dmxq78

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is an outlier defined? different books will sometimes use different criteria. usually, a data point is considered an outlier if it is more than 3 std devs away from the mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are std devs? Outlier: is a value that is substantially different from the rest of the data in a set.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at your data. which value or values is substantially different from the rest of the data?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really see a big difference between the numbers... they're all decimals... and I don't really see a pattern

just learned how to find outliers from the given data set, its a very good + short video... see if it is useful.. .

Thank you ^-^ the side videos help as well.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

based on video : im getting Q1 = 2.6 Q2 = 5.2 IQR = 2.6 working it is giving the outlier = 9.8
