If you are trying to tell the difference between vectors and scalars. They are both pints in some space, but vectors have direction (a line with an arrow, or North, south, east, left right...) and magnitude how long the line is. Scalars do not have direction. 10 m/h east is a vector. 10 m/h is a scalar.
