My friend Keyra is the most amazing friend anyone could ask for. We’ve been through a lot together that you would call us sisters. We meet on my first day of my new school. I had to go to the special ed class room to meet with the teacher. Keyra was sitting at one of the tables by herself so I wanted to say hello. After that we just hit it off.
Most boys think Keyra is cute. She has rosy-red hair that is just above her shoulders. When she laughs it fills you with happiness and her light brown eyes go dark. Keyra is like me when she dresses; she wears mostly sweatpants and mismatching tank tops and doesn’t care what others have to say about it. But sometimes she asks me what to wear to shake up her look a bit.
Keyra is more on the shy, quiet-type side. She is very helpful and out-going though. She keeps to herself unless she hears someone talking about one of her friends. She’s very caring when it comes to her friends and family. She can be head-strong and determined when it’s needed. She can be loud at times, too.

Keyra is a great supporter. Not many people in our group of friends are up to trying something new. Last month when I asked her if I should try to post a video of me singing a song we had to sing for choir on the internet, she said “You have a good chance to get the part, so go for it.” Just for listening to her, I got a lot of views on it and a lot of friendly comments. Now I try out singing anything and everything and post it on the internet.
Not only is Keyra a fantastic supporter, she also trusts me to give her my honest opinion on anything and to say how I feel. Like just this week, we were talking through email and she told me about how her dad is always grounding her. I told her the truth—that Keyra is always fighting with her brothers and her dad, and she never listens to him. She accepted my explanation and changed how she acted towards everyone.
