A boat is travelling at a velocity represented by 2x3 - 10x2 + 7. At the same time, current is pushing the boat in the same direction with a velocity given by 5x3 + 19x2 + 4x. What is the total travelling velocity of the boat? Write your answer in standard form without any spaces and use ^ to indicate an exponent, if necessary.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

boat + water = total ..... so just add them together

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

2x3 - 10x2 + 0x + 7 5x3 + 19x2 + 4x -----------------------

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

since water flow is helping the boat speed, u can add them both to get the effective total velocity of boat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so i added then what do i do next @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you're done after adding :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wat do u get after adding them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x3 + 9x2 + 4x+ 7 @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Excellent !!!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Write your answer in standard form without any spaces and use ^ to indicate an exponent, if necessary.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 thank you so much :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

watever u have is already in standard form, but u need to use "^" for exponent, and remove spaces.. when entering into system ok ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

7x3 + 9x2 + 4x+ 7 formats like below : 7x^3+9x^2+4x+7
