Answer this for me, Please and Thank you! >.< Find the area of the triangle. 16.5m^2 11.55m^2 23.1m^2 4.85m^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

\[Area = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times \ base \ \times \ height = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } \times \ 4.2 \times 5.5\] got it :) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 23.1

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u have to divide it by 2. what will u get then ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11.55m^2? '.'

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep .... u r correct !

Find the area of the triangle. 874mm^2 42mm^2 437mm^2 21mm^2

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

apply the same theory i mentioned before base = 38 height = 23 now Area= 1/2 x base x height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

874

OpenStudy (phi):

did you divide by 2 ? (or multiply by ½ ?)

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u forgot to divide it by 2 again :)

OpenStudy (phi):

just base * height gives the area of a RECTANGLE

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

\[Area \ of \ a \ \triangle = \frac{ base \times height }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thx

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

this will be easy to remember and u wont forget the divide by 2 part again ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The perimeter of the triangle shown is 18 cm. What is the measure of the third side?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

perimeter = the length of all the three sides add together = 6 + 8 + missing side 18 = 6 + 8 + missing side now u should be able to find the missing side :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 cm

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep
