What do you like in a band when it comes to stage performance?
Movement, eye engagement, Acknowledge that the audience is there
Nothing more annoying than an emotionally detached band on stage, especially when you enjoy their music.
I know, I hate that, I went to a house show and the band was nothing like their music, it made them suck, threw the whole show off.
Personality, perhaps something signature for the band: a certain way of stage makeup, or something that becomes synonymous with the band. Front-man wise (in recent years) this could mean "The Lucker Stomp" (though quite a few people are known for doing this) or Alex Koehler's back bend and the fact that many a fan leave a Chelsea Grin concert saying "Oh my God, he drooled on me! This is so cool!". I like bands that seem genuine in what they do, and I like it even more when this is reflected in their performances. I will admit though that I am not a fan of too-choreographed performances.
Acknowledgement. And audacity, as long as it doesn't go that far.
Peaches and cake Lots and lots of peaches and cake
when it comes to a band they have to be involved with their fans, and they have to use their emotions so that we can connect with them on a certain level, they also have to be very persistent.
energy
Honestly, I love it when they try to engage in the crowd.
