i would say 4 but im not sure if this is a trick question where 2+2 actually is supposed to be "22"..

i know.. somebody else did this exact question earlier and they insisted it was 22..

A binary operation of addition that is commutative. "2"+"2" = "22" but that is concatenation, not addition.
