When water evaporates from the ocean into the air, does the ocean surface water temperature drop? If so, by how much?
Evaporation does cool the water, ergo drop its temperature, but then again, since there is sun, it heats it up again, so i think the water temperature is more or less a constant, and constantly evaporation takes place!
Thats what i think ok? :P
I agree with Mashy.....but i have a slight doubt..., for evaporation, the molecules on the surface need energy ,,this energy can be obtained from the molecules below the surface,,,,(if this happens, obviously oceans temperature has to fall).... OR , the required energy can be obtained from the surroundings (atmosphere),,,,then i dont think the temperature has to drop
Please remember that water evaporation does occur while kit is cloudy and at night. Perhaps both the surface water and air layer above the surface cool down?
