This concept is reflected in something called the "slope" of the line. Let's take a look at the straight line y = ( 2/3 ) x – 4. Its graph looks like this: To find the slope, we will need two points from the line.

if you have 2 points on a line you can use the formula : \[m=\frac{ y2-y2 }{ x2-x1 }\] if not you can use \[\frac{ rise }{ run } = \frac{ y }{ x }\] Hope This Helps - Bree :)
