Determine the zeros of the following function. A. {-1, 5} B. {0, 5} C. {-5, 1} D. {-5, 0}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The zeros are the points where the function touches the x axis. It's where it goes through the x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what that, (0,-5) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The function touches the y axis at -5, not the x axis. The x axis is horizontal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you look at x=-1, do you see the x axis with the graph going through it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o yaaa, i meant (5,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are correct in that the funciton goes through x = 5, but the other point is not 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The graph moves -1 spaces away from 0 Do you see that the function goes through x = -1 and x = 5 together?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not good at algebra at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o i see now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its (-1,5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
