1/4, 3/16, 9/64, 27/256, 81/1024, ...

You can tell if it is geometric by dividing:
second term divided by 1st term
third term divided by 2nd term
fourth term divided by 3rd term and so on.
If the answers are all the same, it is geometric and the common ratio is the answer to the division problem.
