If it is 1/2(x+6)= (3/2x)-1 Distribute/Multiply 1/2
1/2x+3= 3/2x -1 Add the 1 to both sides
1/2x+4=3/2x Subtract 1/2x from both sides
4= 1/2x Divide both sides by 1/2x

So it should have been..
1/2x+3= 3/2x -1 Add the 1 to both sides
1/2x+4=3/2x Subtract 1/2x from both sides
