2/3x+1/2=3/5x-5/6
First step combine like terms, Remember to bring a term across the equal sign we have to do the opposite to each side, so -5/6 add to both sides of the equation. 2/3x+1/2=3/5x-5/6 2/3x+1 1/3=3/5x
@Brandon?? Now subtract 2/3x from both sides 1 (1/3) = 1/15x Divide both sides by 1/15 4/3 / 1/15, reverse the reciprocal to multiply 4/3 x 15/1 Cross multiply x=20
Thank you
I had a problem with finding out where the one and one third came from But now I get it
Can you please verify this for me 1/2(x+6)=3/2x-1 I got x=4
@Brandon1016 ?? R u here?
1/2 (x+6) = 3/ (2x-1) ? or (3/2x)-1
1/2x+3= Can u re-write second part of equation :) What u wrote is (3/2x) -1 Is that what you meant?
If it is 1/2(x+6)= (3/2x)-1 Distribute/Multiply 1/2 1/2x+3= 3/2x -1 Add the 1 to both sides 1/2x+4=3/2x Subtract 1/2x from both sides 4= 1/2x Divide both sides by 1/2x 4 / (1/2) = x Flip the reciprocal to multiply 4 x 2/1 = 8 x=8 :) If that is the equation you meant to post :)
Yes
Awesome, thanks for coming back :D
Any other q's?
g2g, in 5 max 10 min...
Sorry 1/2 (x+6)=3/2 x -1 This is what I did 1/2 x +3= 3/2x-1 3= 3/2x-1/2 x-1 3=2/2x-1 3=1x -1 3 +1=x 4=x
Duh sorry ur right, senior moment! 3/2-1/2 = 2/2 = 1 So it should have been.. 1/2x+3= 3/2x -1 Add the 1 to both sides 1/2x+4=3/2x Subtract 1/2x from both sides 4= 2/2x Divide both sides by 1x 4 = 1x x=4 You are correct :) Good job :D Sorry I forgot how to subtract, i apologize!
Thank you for your help. It really helped. Sometimes I think things are more complicated than what they reality are. Once I read you answers things made sense and I remembered doing this before. Gracias! Good night
You too :) Remember you don't need to take everything to one side, but if it works for u awesome :D
