Two resistors 10 Ω and 5 Ω are connected in parallel across a 15 V battery. What is the potential difference across the 10 Ω resistor? I got 45 V because R=3.33 Ohms so I=4.5 A and change in velocity = 4.5*10 = 45V, but the choices are 5V 10V, 15V, and 20V. So what am I doing wrong?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Isn't the voltage equal for all paths when they are in parallel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so, yes.

So I think you have |dw:1392953314960:dw| If the voltage is equal on both paths then it would just be 15 V across both resisters?
