Depends on your definition of meet. Since it is not a dating site or place to share personal information.... Now, if you mean encounter lots of helpful people from all over the world, sure.

some good people on here and no i dont mean as a dating site. I like it because their are people on here from all over and most of them care about your questions and not just giving you the answers right off the bat

Yep! I did some help tutoring a person in tandem with someone from Greece. I have helped people who kiv in England, Hong Kong, and others.
