How does the author want the reader to feel while reading "The Cask of Amontillado"?

From what I have read, he had a strange fascination with premature burial aka being buried alive which is a recurring theme in a few of his stories ("Premature Burial", The Tell-Tale Heart", as well as The Cask of Amantillado"). I haven't read this story in a few years, but I recall that the lead character buries his enemy alive at the back of the catacombs and leaves him to die. He does this to exact revenge because the enemy had insulted him in some way. Revenge is another recurring theme in his stories ("The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Cask of Amantillado", "The Black Cat", "Hop-Frog"). Hopes this helps.
