multiply the first eqn by 6 multiply the 2nd eqn by 4 subtract the new 2nd eqn from the new 1st eqn to eliminate the y you have one eqn with x as the only variable solve for x now you have x substitute in any of the original eqn and find the value of y remember to check your answers
