Solve |x| = 5

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Have you seen this..\[|x|=c \rightarrow x=\pm(c)\]

OpenStudy (zarkon):

is x a real number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

.-. look @Isaiah.Feynman explanation, its very detailed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If \(x\) can be a complex number, then you're going to have: \[ (a-bi)(a+bi) = 5^2 \]Basically, any values \(a^2+b^2=25\) would work. (A circle of solutions) If it is a real number, then the only solutions are \(-5,5\). If it is only natural numbers, then the only solution is \(5\).
