.Evaluate -3x^3 - 4x for x = -1. 1 7 -1 (x^3, 3 is an exponent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're just going to want to replace x with the -1, it would be relatively simple if not for the multitude of minus signs.. It can be useful to use brackets, so -3x^3-4x becomes -(3*((-1)^3))-(4*(-1)) Just remember to work from the inside out.
