Can you change your name on OpenStudy without getting a new account?

OpenStudy (hba):

No

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hi, The realistic answer is, "no," however, the technical aspect is, "yes." While, yes, you can change your name (and I put a lot of emphasis on "can"), it would require administrators to change every ID (a marker for your information), which would be extremely painstaking. Even one mistake could result in a loss of SmartScore for you and everyone you've talked to. It's a risky operation (heh) and has never been attempted. Once you created your account, you're done. That's it. If you are disatisfied with your account name, then simply make a new one. :)

I hate that by the way. There should be a ID on your email address, not your username. That way people could change their username if they want. THINK ABOUT IT.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It makes total sense to me. ^^

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

@Compassionate That's the same answer you gave me. Are you a robot programmed to give that answer to this type of question? :P

OpenStudy (hba):

I wish you knew what a Database is.

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

we really need a different ID placeholder. Like a number or something. Using the username is rather inconvenient for the users.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Compassionate is not human. I am a robot.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Orange - database =/= email. It's a lot more complicated than that.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Nope. Can't change username.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, I was wondering that, thank you all for anwsering!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I have tryed. If you go to account setting you can change your real name, but other than that you can not change your name.
