Point A is 2 units to the left of and 3 units below the origin. What are the coordinates of the point? A) (-3,-2) B) (-2,-3) C) (-2,3) D) (3,-2)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

left/right is the x-value. up/down is the y-value. Go!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Very nice. Nothing to do with this problem statement. You just need to find the indicated point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, plug in all the answers?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

1) There is no such thing as "plug in". 2) Substitute into what? There is no equation. Just name the point by giving its address. The Origin is (0,0) The point one unit to the right of the Origin is (1,0) The point two units below the Origin is (0,-2) Just write down the point's address. That's all it wants.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, lol ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B (-2-3)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Usually with a comma in between. Very good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, lol I knew something was missing
