ABCDE is a regular pentagon. The apothem is 9.7 cm, and AB = 14.1 cm. Calculate the area of the pentagon. Round the answer to the nearest tenth.

help me pleases!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area = (½)(apothem)(perimeter) They already gave you the apothem, we just need to find the perimeter. Since ABCDE is a regular polygon, each side is the same length. Since ABCDE has 5 points, it is a pentagon. So, it has 5 equal sides. They already gave us one side of length 14.1. If you multiply that by 5 you get the perimeter. 14.1 times 5=70.5 cm. Now you just plug in the equation. area = (½)(apothem)(perimeter) area= (½)(9.7)(70.5) Can you solve the rest?
