Select the sentence that correctly uses parentheses. Everyone who lives (in the United States) hears the story about George Washington and the cherry tree. The story about how (George Washington) told his father that he accidentally cut down the cherry tree is often told to teach children the value of honesty. George Washington told his father, "I cannot tell a lie. (I cut down the cherry tree!)" Do you believe the story about the president (George Washington) who, as a boy, admitted to his father that he cut down the cherry tree?

What is the best way to write the following sentence? My favorite day of the year is July 24 my birthday. My favorite day, of the year, is July 24 my birthday. My favorite day of the year is July 24th—my birthday. My favorite day of the year is (July 24) my birthday. @celecity

Choose the sentence in which the non-restrictive phrase appears in bold. Mattie, whom I've known since preschool, is the only person I know at my new school. My friend Mattie is the only person I know at my new school. Mattie is my oldest friend and the only person I know at my new school. The only person I know at my new school is Mattie—my oldest friend @celecity

@celecity
@celecity are u gonna help me
Not be rude, but "wtf"... is not a nice way to get help. It's not his/her job to answer 7 questions for you even if you answered 100 of questions after all it's your homework/ test, not his/her. At least be nice, and appreciate his/her help and give him/her a medal, (which I will do right now). Btw Openstudy is about helping and letting others understand how to do something not about giving answers.
& this is the wrong section; you should post it in history.
Yeah, that's why I stopped responding. But you put more effort than I did into explaining that.
You seem nice enough to help and give answers, but don't give straight answers, it could get you in trouble.
I don't usually, I just really didn't know how to explain why it was the right answer. I'm more used to doing math questions and helping people with those.
