The kinds of things that *are* allowed in this group:
- Discussions and questions on musical theory.
- Discussions and questions on instruments, instrumentation, composition, songwriting, etc.
- Posting your own original work for feedback and criticism (as usual, please be respectful).

Do NOT:
- Post YouTube videos for other artists.
- Post poems, they belong in the literature or writing section.
- Post SoundCloud links for other artists.
- Post questions about what people's favorite genres are.

I think I would know what I do right and wrong and if I'm nice or not. Believe it or not, I do talk to moderators daily, they see no issues with how I respond to users. Please leave me alone.

Do you mean that poems can't be posted here; for criticism, even if it is their own original work? I have always believed that poetry is a type of music. Poetry and rap are very much similar. the only difference between the two is that one has an instrumental beat and the other does not. Can you explain this with further detail, so that this can be understood better?

Well, if it's just lyrics without any sort of music to accompany it, then it doesn't matter what genre it is. That kind of stuff should stay in the writing groups, as there is no actual sound to go along with it, so it's just being read for literary value.

My poetry on many levels has been considered music even if I state that it is not that is why I'm an asking about this. I have problems posting things in the "Writing sections". No one there is willing to give me pointers because i don't look for literary pointers my poetry is more music than poetry but is still poetry. A name that I won't say thought that I could get more help here than in any "Writing section".

I don't thing what your saying is right. I think it is wrong of you to isolate the group of musicians that can't/don't post actual sound with their lyrics/poetry. I am 98% deaf on my right side. I take great offense to this "so called rule" you have. OpenStudy is a fantastic learning environment I have found great to work with. If it weren't for the fact I enjoy OpenStudy I would leave right now because of this.

If they don't post it, that's their fault. If they can't, that's another story. Either way though, without music to accompany the lyrics, it doesn't really pertain to music.

The problem with the written word is that it can be misunderstood too often. We have to draw the line between subjects/topics that seems a little artificial at times. However for the sake of management and increasing the efficacy of use - we do it. So yes, please post your "poems" in Writing and words of songs here. I apologize on behalf of anyone that you feel has given offense. Certainly, none was intended.
