Can anyone give me a brief idea of what the history of india is?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

That is a huge topic. Did you try these? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_India http://www.historyindia.org/

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

@hartnn might be able to help you here :)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Good point Becca! @shrutipande9 would know too, seeing as how she goes Pune, one of the top Universities in India. While it is not her major, I am sure she knows the basics by heart!

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

@ganeshie8 or @ash2326 would probably know as well. They are from India.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

My view : Buddha->mughals->british->independence->5_year_plans->Modern india now...

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Wow... that is a VERY short version. I mean, you skipped how Ghandi proved that the British used English to help enslave the people, but when the country got rid of British rule, they decided to keep English. Ghandi was completely against this, but there was no single language that was native that did not enrage one group or another, so they kept English and turned it from a force of enslavement to a common method of communication that helped keep the peace.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

O_o well I learned something.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ahh also i skipped the timeperiod before Buddha.. . Mahabharat - Vyas muni and all.... which are treated more as fiction than as history by outsiders.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, the Greek and Myan gods are some other examples of how older beliefs are seen as myths, so the Indians are not alone in that.

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

http://www.ancient.eu.com/india/ indian history is very very huge...the post length would be short for this..:P but try this link..ull get everything here.....
