Well, I'd say C is correct. An appositive phrase, and I quote, "A noun, noun phrase, or series of nouns placed next to another word or phrase to identify or rename it." http://grammar.about.com/od/ab/g/apposterm.htm An adverb phrase, and I quote again, is "A word group with an adverb as its head.
