finding the axis of symmetry you can use x= -b/2a 

so...
x = -(-8)/2(2)
x = 8/4
x = 2

f(x) = ax^2 + bx +c -----> f(x) = 2x^2 -8x +8 so a=2, b=-8, c=8 and just plug into the formula
