a cruise ship going from san juan to barbados takes an indirect route in order to avoid bad weather the distance between barbados and san juan is 600 nautical miles but the captain chooses to head south east for 150 nm and then turns the ship and heads north east for 462 nm. through what angle of turn should the captain turn in order to male the ship head directly towards Barbados?

Since you have a triangle with 3 known sides, use the law of cosines to find angle x. Then subtract x from 180 to find the angle you are looking for. |dw:1393221843759:dw|
