help I forgot how to do this :/ Let f(x)=4+5x and g(x)=2x-1. Find f(g(x)) and g(f(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug the g(x) 2x-1 into the place of x in the f(x) equation, then do the opposite.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4+5(2x-1) 2(5+5x)-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so distribute?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

no

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

plugging in one function into another function

What you do, is find the answer to the equations. You are replacing the x value, for the values that are given. Like the other person said, you solve for 4+5(2x-1) and 2(5+5x)-1. So you would end up with 4+(10x-5) and 10+10x-1. So your two answers would be -1+10x and 9+10x
