2. Max was solving the equation below and isn’t sure if his answer is correct. Explain to Max how he can check his answer and then help him identify any errors he made. Provide the correct solution in your explanation. 3x+6 8 = 7x−1 6 24 1 ( 3x+6 8 ) = 24 1 ( 7x−1 6 ) 3(3x+6) = 4(7x−1) 9x+18 = 28x−1 9x−9x+18 = 28x−9x−1 18 = 19x−1 18+1 = 19x−1+1 19 = 19x 1 = x
i can't make out the initial part of it man!
not very clear
thats what i said..!
Here is a pic that is more clear since i copied and paste
ok.. how do you think you can check whether x=1 is the right answer or not?!
By doing the problem again
nooo... how do you check if a solution to the equation is right or not?? for exampel i have x+5 = 10 and lets say i somehow calculate x =3 how do you check if this is the right answser?!?
subtracting 10 by 5
well.. what if u have a more complicated equation say something like x+3x - 2(x+1) = -3 and i get x =2 how do you check if this is the right answer WITHOUT ACTUALLY SOLVING!!.. see i don't want you to solve it.. i want you to just CHECK (which can be done in a much faster way) whether or not my answer is right.. so do you know?!
replaces the variable X with your answer 2
Nvm I got the answer
