I am really really extremely bad at geometry because i missed school due to alot of probloems i was going through and i missed alot on instrusction so i literally have no clue how to solve this please help?

When two letters are given like that, it means a distance of a segment. AD is the distance from point A to point D.

In your picture, both A and D are on the x-axis. We can just count the distance. A is at 0, and D is at 9. That means AD=9. You can find AB in the same way.
