How has climate influenced the size of house sparrows? A. They have gradually become smaller in colder parts of the country. B. Their size has not changed in response to climate. C. They have gradually become larger in colder parts of the country. D. Their size has increased in response to heavy rainfall.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would think they'd become smaller in colder parts of the country, since I'm assuming that in colder weather there would be less to eat and those with smaller bodies would have a higher survival rate due to a lower energy requirement.

Juuust a guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

Why does it take a long time to develop a new variety of tomato? A. Changes in traits happen gradually, over many generations. B. Tomatoes cannot acquire new traits. C. A species cannot change over time. D. Many plants resist change.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that one is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. Anything can acquire new traits over time--any species can therefore change overtime. This eliminates options B and C. Plants have no means to RESIST change, although they are unlikely to change if not necessary.

OpenStudy (zenyu):

the first one is C, not A.

OpenStudy (zenyu):

The second one is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the first one it C. If its colder you want to be bigger so you have more fat to stay warm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes complete sence
