What is the best way to write an academic paper? (A few sub-questions as well.)

OpenStudy (opcode):

I would like to know the best method of writing a academic paper; I know that there are multiple ways to write an academic paper, but I am looking for the most efficient way. \(\textbf{_Sub-questions:}\) \(#1\) When I was learning English I was always told to restate the question, is this a good idea to continue to do? For example: According to the passage where did Sam go with Jack? My normal response is to write: According to the passage where Sam went with Jack was to the movie theaters. Is this correct? Are there any better ways to do this? \(#2\) What exactly does the SAT test for in the reading and writing section? \(#3\) Will you please recommend any good practice books for improving my reading and writing for the SAT? (Websites are welcomed.)

1. I, personally, do not restate the question, unless it is requested to do so. The reader will become more involved with the text if you were to say, for example, "I love chocolate ice cream!" rather than "If I could choose between chocolate and vanilla ice cream, I'd choose chocolate." 2. The SAT test's for reading comprehension, theme, and plot. It asks a lot of question about why or how the author wrote it, rather than questions that can simply be found by looking back in the text. The writing portion is grammar based. It will give you an incorrect sentence fragment and you will have to choose from four answers, the best replacement. An essay is required for the SAT, as well. When I took it, my prompt was about my opinion on power plants and schools, and their distance apart from each other. 3. If you go on sat.collegeboard it provides many useful practice tests, that were a great advantage to me. Good luck!
